A native of New England, Pat Tucker has been a serious student of aviculture since 1980, specializing in Psittacines. Pat Tucker is one of the most precious jewels in the crown of Cockatiel enthusiasts. She is gifted with not only with great knowledge, but the willingness to share it unselfishly. She has an evident heart for the Novice and gives of her time freely. When she steps up to the plate to help, you can feel her genuine care, even in e-mail communications. She accepts all for who they are and finds value in everyone… pet owner, exhibitor, Novice or Advanced. We all come to her equals. I never fail to feel appreciated, respected and cared for when speaking with her. Her seemingly endless dedication has saved many a hatchling from expiring, as well as calmed many a frantic owner/breeder. Yes, she has often been the rainbow after (and sometimes during) the storm. Perhaps she is the Beacon of the NCS. She has helped me weather the most difficult times my aviary has experienced. I count on her to be there. I know most members can expect the same, so can the NCS in general. NCS will be well served by someone so giving, caring, compassionate, knowledgeable and dedicated!

One thing that I learned about Pat most recently is that she is definitely open to NEW IDEAS! She is a veteran cockatiel breeder and exhibitor who has quality birds and knows "quality" when she see it. If there is anything out there that can help improve quality, or anyone that she can learn from, Pat is interested and will try it. We seem to share that common care and interest as "mother hens".

Pat is one of the only breeders that I know that 100% brings pet ownership and breeding together as a single unit. Pat Tucker is bright, charming, helpful to novices, and is a leader.
I will vote for Pat Tucker for State Coordinator Chair because I think she'll be a breath of fresh air and will inspire the State Coordinators by her example. Always the optimist, Pat is going to be a great addition to the new NCS Board. She has definate opinions but will take new evidence and change her opinion if she needs to. Thus, she is very thoughtful and willing to except her shortcomings. I find this to be a HUGE quality in any person! I admire Pat, her quality of cockatiels, and most of all, her wonderful spirit!
